Foreign PEPs are defined as persons who hold important official positions in foreign governments, etc. The specific subjects are as follows.
1. Head of foreign country
2. Those who hold the following positions in foreign countries
- The Prime Minister of Japan and other ministers of state and vice-ministers equivalent positions
- Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Speaker of the House of Councillors, or Deputy Speaker of the House of Councillors equivalent positions
- Positions equivalent to that of a judge of the Supreme Court
- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Government Representative or Plenipotentiary equivalent positions
- Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Office or Vice Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Office, Chief of Staff, G.S.D.F. or Vice Chief of Staff, G.S.D.F., Chief of Staff, M.S.D.F. or Vice Chief of Staff, M.S.D.F., Chief of Staff, A.S.D.F. or Vice Chief of Staff, A.S.D.F. equivalent positions
- Central bank officers
- Officers of a juridical person whose budget must be approved or ratified by the Diet
3. Those who apply to any of ① or ② in the past
